Dear Mr Dewey,
I found the enclosed waiting for me at the Unit when I arrived this morning. You will notice that the photos overlap, but the rear row of graves you will see the crosses bearing the names of Sgt O’Halloran and Sgt Stefens, the other members of the crew are the four crosses in the same section of the English cemetery.
I have written to thank the pastor’s daughter for taking the photos. This evening I sent a spray of roses with your card attached and these will be placed on the graves this evening about 10 o’clock by the Despatch Rider who is taking them. I have sent all the information you gave me to the appropriate Military Govt and asked them to look further into the matter.
Sorry about the typing I am well out of practice and almost asleep as its Thursday since I had a decent sleep. I am going to make up for it now as I have a lot more travelling ahead of me.
Will you tell Miss Thaxter not to hesitate to write to me, she will, understand. I expect to be home now well before the end of September.
Yours sincerely,
George Joyce
