6 Dec 1944: from Jesse to Sam
Just got a letter from Doreen that you have taken the big step successfully1. We are glad to hear it Sam. We hope you will be a new man now. It's no fun not feeling well but the old sky will clear some of these days for you I am sure.
I hope you don't worry either. Just let it rip and you will be better much sooner. Next summer I want you to spend at least a weekend with us and have a fish. We have pickerel, bass, and pike right below us here2. I'll have a flat bottom boat and we’ll have some fun.
Glenn I hope will be home by then too. Doreen sent us a letter saying they were managing alright. Wish I lived closer.
Drop us a line right soon.
????? Jesse
