12 Apr 1943: from Sam to son Glenn.
Dear Dear Glenn,
Thought I would drop you a line as mother has a headache and Gwendolyn and Ray are to the show. I went down to see Dora last night as you didn't get home to go1. We sold the hens upstairs to a Jew. Went today got $0.25 lb live. Ordered 500 chickens today. Snow all day up here. I suppose it is summer down there. Real winter up here. Mother thinks you had better stay there and study. Grant sold his ?Mustrat? got $1.50. Mother says she will look after her’s and Gwendolyn’s flowers for the big event. Got your oil from Hodson to day. Bed time so guess I will be going to bed.
