Dear Gwen.
Just a line to let you know that I am getting along fine and in the best of health. Received a letter from you a week ago just after you had arrived home from the hospital. I am hoping that you have had a speedy recovery and are up and around by now
Well I’m still in Yorkshire where it [deleted] it [/deleted] rains most every day however lately we have had some splendid weather. Where our job is concerned, weather is a very important factor. My mail is coming very well have had a parcel from mother also one from Dora this past week My letters come in 5 to 10 days.
Archie was over to visit me on Sunday and we had a nice evening

to-gether [sic]. We are stationed about 10 miles apart. A nice ride after supper if we are not on duty
As far as I know at present I have a weeks leave coming on the twentieth of Aug. so I will get down to see George Werry and spend a day or two at Jack Brooks’. That’s one good thing about air-crew we get our leaves every 6 weeks as a usual thing.
The [indecipherable word] are causing a lot of grief [indecipherable word] but are not as bad as at first. I have seen several knocked down while flying in that area. They certainly make a big bang. Incidentally, I am half through my tour really packing them in lately
News is very encouraging lately It may soon finish up. We will
[page break]

probably get a trip to the east when it does. Should get home for a spell before we go I think and there is always a chance we won’t have to go
Well Gwen thats the story for the present. Hope dad is standing up to the work and mother is ok also. I suppose Grant will be in top condition so I shan’t have to bother about him. Take good care of yourself and write when you can
Love
Glenn
