Hello Folks:
Well it’s Monday noon-hour. Kind of slipped up yesterday and didnt get your letter written. A very nice day but awfully warm at present.
Received a letter from you and also one from Gwen this past week. Statesman is coming regular also times. I got your parcel containing my pajamas [sic] also a parcel from Dora with pajamas included. I really havent had time to eat much of the food but it was [indecipherable word] what I had of it. Have two cans of steak put away so will have a feast one of these days.
Fred Wheeled over to see me yesterday and we spent the evening to-gether. He is getting along fine about 15 miles away from me. He is coming over again this week sometime. Seems to have of lots of spare [indecipherable word] waiting for a crew. I have bought another bike so I’ll be able to go down where he is if I can get any time off. We are waiting for a call 24 hours a day at present.
Well according to your letter you are all getting along ok. Hope dads back is better by now, and Gwen is recovering quickly. How are the chickens coming? any skunks or fox around this year?
News is very good and it looks as if we may soon be finished with Jerry. I had already got the copies of the Stateman included in your parcel. Mail is coming very good at present.
How are the ball games coming Grant? I enjoyed your few

lines in the latest letters. How about a letter some time?
I heard from George again and things are going well with him.
My food here is very good also accommodations so don’t worry about me. Thanks for the swell parcel and pajamas. It might be better if you sent soda biscuits instead of the steak through the warm weather.
