31 Oct 1943 to Everybody – on Canadian YMCA letterhead
Well its Sunday evening 10 o’clock and have just finished work. Have been in a turret1 since 6 o’clock tonight.
Went to church parade this morning and was flying this afternoon. We had to come down again after a mist came up. We came back to Macdonald2 just above the telephone wires. I sure don’t like this low flying.
Was into Portage Saturday afternoon and saw Harold [Travers] from Newcastle in the street. He is being sent to Florida for his operational training and then across the pond [ed. Atlantic] He is a Sgt wag3.
Hope dad is feeling better and hens are laying good. Too bad about the apples not turning out so good. You’ll have to hope for better luck next year.
I will soon be home to see you again. I bought my wing and stripes3 on Saturday. Am enclosing a little picture I had taken at a photobooth yesterday.
Will say so long for now. Tell Gwenn and Grant to write. I suppose they are both busy at lessons.
Love Glenn
