Copyright and licencing

The IBCC Digital Archive is managed and run by staff at the University of Lincoln. This is the University’s central commitment as an IBCC partner.  In consequence, the University of Lincoln owns the copyright to most of the material in the Digital Archive.  We make this material available to users in terms of a Creative Commons license Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0), which requires that you do not use material for any commercial purpose. You can read more about this license at

A small amount of material is owned by other parties, who have kindly agreed to licence the IBCC Digital Archive to publish their material under the same non-commercial conditions.

Should you wish to use materials for any purpose not covered by our license, you must contact us for further details.

Complaints

If there is an item in the Digital Archive which you believe should not have been published, please contact us with details of the item and your reason.

Our take-down policy will cover such cases. We will remove the item from the Archive website and investigate the complaint. If we believe the complaint is valid, the item will not be displayed again. If we believe the complaint to be invalid, we will contact the complainant giving our reasons and a right of reply, before deciding whether to reinstate the item.  We reserve the right to take the final decision in such cases, taking into account our rights to material in terms of agreements made with donors.
