EB: Già verso il ’40, nel ’44 sono iniziati anche i bombardamenti diurni, prima li facevano di notte i bombardamenti anche per evitare le insidie della contraerea, no? Poi visto che la contraerea non esisteva quasi più perché l’avevano decimata, e allora hanno iniziato i bombardamenti diurni. E il primo bombardamento diurno è avvenuto su quella zona di Torino che va da Piazza, da Piazza Bengasi a piazza, em, aspe come se, di Corso Bramante.

EB: Lì c’era lo smistamento ferroviario, quindi i treni, no? Il deposito dei treni, quindi anche quello era un obiettivo. C’era la RIV fabbrica di cuscinetti a sfera, era importante per le industrie belliche e poi c’era la FIAT Lingotto, insomma era una zona molto industriosa. E lì c’è stato un’altra strage, perché quando avvenivano, em, quando avvenivano, em i segnali di allarme di giorno la gente non si curava neanche perché quando avvenivano prima erano soltanto dei ricognitori, che passavano a controllare le zone, vedere i danni eccetera, però di bombardamenti non ne facevano, quindi la gente sentiva l’allarme e continuavano i suoi affari come niente. E invece quel giorno lì è arrivato proprio uno squadrone aereo di bombardieri e hanno colpito sta zona lì. Pensi che è suonato l’allarme e la gente come al solito, nelle fabbriche smettevano di lavorare però stavano nei reparti oppure uscivano, a far una fumatina, insomma a passare così. Quindi la gente era per la strada cosi. Sono arrivati sti aerei, han sganciato ste bombe, han fatto una strage eh. E io quel giorno lì ero anche io ero al lavoro, per fortuna ero in Borgo San Paolo. Ho visto quello perché, quando ho visto gli aerei, sti squadroni, ste squadre aeree che arrivavano, ho detto ‘Qui non sono più ricognitori’. Ho cercato di raggiungere un rifugio sicuro ma quando sono arrivato al rifugio c’era già da far la coda per entrare e quindi ho visto il bombardamento, ho visto tutti quei cosi delle bombe, il fumo andare, andare in alto e poi quando è cessato, che fare? Andiamo a vedere che cosa è stato. E sono andato a vedere, una cosa straziante eh! C’erano corpi di persone straziate, braccia, gambe sparse, abiti stracciati in mezzo alle, una strage che non, da piazza Carducci in avanti tutta sta gente colpita così, è stata una cosa veramente. E poi oltretutto gli incendi: c’erano anche case che bruciavano, e robe del genere.
