Description
An account of the resource
Main article - editorial expounding air and land integrated operations with reference to Spanish civil war and Germans in Poland. Suggests that British forces adopt the same approach and that there should be no lack of cohesion or rivalry between the RAF and army. Second article - editorial call to battlements - report on Churchill's comments on situation to house of parliament.

Dear Mum,
Not a lot to write about again this time. The weathers been very cool & windy the past few days – not much effort to stay in camp & go to bed early. Had a couple more ops in, have twelve to finish now. Scottie Gall finished his tour a couple of nights ago which we found a good excuse to spend a night on the beer down at the local pub – nearly all the navigators were there as well as Scotties crew. The old Bushie from Tooraweenah was there too making up the trio from the district out home. Bushie’s crew are in the same room as us & although they arrived here a week before us we’ve had the same number of ops. done & there’s great rivalry to see who gets the lead – we had one on them for a few weeks but they got even a few days ago & look like staying that way now for a while. Bert Howard’s crew were shot down over there a few nights ago – bad luck. They may have parachuted safely but it seems a bit doubtful from what we’ve heard. He was going to marry a girl from Newcastle on his next leave which was due in a fortnight. Betty told you I suppose that his girl at Dulwich Hill walked out on him and married a Yank a couple of months ago. Betty told me you got the cushion cover OK. Gosh I’d been carting that around a while – really been places. Glad the wool turned out OK. Bad luck for Alwin with his lambs though wasn’t it. Cheerio. Love to all at home Bert XXXX
