Thirteenth is a postcard, colour photograph of Battle of Britain Memorial flight Lancaster coasting in. On the reverse a caption ' Lancaster B1 'City of Lincoln'. due to it's outstanding efficiency and performance the Lancaster was able to attack heavily defended strategic targets deep in enemy territory, with a heavier bomb load than any other WWII aircraft. It has a wingspan of 102', a length of 69' 6 ", and a maximum speed of 275 mph.
This particular Lancaster (PA474) is part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight based at R.A.F. Coningsby, near Lincoln. It was adopted by this city in 1975, and is permitted to carry the city's Coat of Arms and the title City of Lincoln.'
