A man sitting with his leg over the side of the back of the cockpit of a single engine biplane side on. Aircraft registration G-EBOV and 'Avian' in letters on the port fuselage below the cockpit. In the background wooden hangar doors. On the reverse 'Bert Hinkler, famous Australian air ace at Hamble with his Avro Avian. 1st solo flight to Australia Feb 1928. He was also the Avro test pilot. Hinkler House museum now at Bundaberg, Queensland, his home'.
