EW Cropper's Log Books
Two flying log books for navigators, air bombers, air gunners and flight engineers for E.W. Cropper. Between them they cover the period 17 May 1943 to 6 October 1950. There is much overlap between them and an original log book was destroyed by fire.

Jack Jarmy’s Royal Canadian Air Force observer’s and air gunner’s flying log book. One
Navigators log book for J Jarmy covering the period from 7th August 1942 to 12th November 1957. Detailing his flying training in Canada and England and operations flown, including various certificates and a list of his operational crew. He was stationed at RCAF Portage La Prairie (7 AOS), RAF Carlisle (15 EFTS), RAF Westcott (11 OTU), RAF Waterbeach (1651 HCU), RAF Mepal (75 Squadron), RAF Feltwell (3 LFS) and RAF Chedburgh (218 Squadron). Aircraft flown in were Anson, DH82 Tiger Moth, Wellington, Stirling, Lancaster, Oxford, Meteor, Harvard, Hastings, Beaufighter, Pembroke, Valetta, Dakota, Shackleton. He did two tours of operations, flew 21 night operations with 75 Squadron and a further 20 operations (7 night and 13 daylight) with 218 Squadron. His pilots on operations were Flight Sergeant Mayfield and Flight Lieutenant Guinane. Targets were the Freisians, Hamburg, Bordeaux, Nuremburg, Turin, Peenemunde, Gladbach, Berlin, Mannheim, Boulogne, Montlucon, Modane, Hanover, Kassel, Frankfurt, Bremen, Warne-Eikel, Hohenbudburg, Dresden, Chemnitz, Wesel, Dortmund, Kamen, Cologne, Gelsenkirchen, Dessau, Datteln, Hattingen, Bocholt, Hallendorf, Kiel, Heligoland and Bad Oldesloe. The log book also lists his post war RAF Flights.

He was stationed at RAF Desford (7 EFTS), RCAF Neepawa (35 EFTS), RCAF Weyburn (41 SFTS), RCAF Charlottetown (31 GRS), RAF Dalcross (19(P) AFU), RAF Perton (21(P) AFU), RAF Desborugh (84 OTU), RAF Chedburgh (1653 Heavy Conversion Unit), RAF Feltwell (3 LFS), RAF Mepal (75(NZ)) Squadron, RAF Lossiemouth (20 OTU), RAF Lulsgate Bottom (No 3 FIS), RAF Lyneham (246 and 511 Squadrons), RAF Holmsley (246 Squadron) and RAF Filton (12 Reserve Flying School). He flew a total of 35 operations (12 night, 23 day) with 75(NZ) Squadron Bomber Command RAF on the following targets in France, Germany and the Netherlands: Bonn, Calais, Cologne, Dortmund, Duisburg, Eindhoven, Emmerich, Essen, Flushing, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamm, Homberg, Kattegat, Koblenz, Le Havre, Leuna (Merseberg), Oberhausen, Osterfeld, Pont-Remy, Saarbrucken, Solingen, Stettin, Stuttgart and Westkapelle Dyke. <span>He flew as a second pilot on operations with </span>Flight Lieutenant Washer.

He flew a total of 25 Operations, 12 Daylight and 5 night operations with 75 Squadron and 2 Daylight and 6 night operations with 7 Squadron Pathfinders. Targets were Duisberg, Cologne, Krefeld, Mönchengladbach, Wiesbaden, Dortmund, Wesel, Gelsenkirchen, Kamen, Wanne Eickel, Salzbergen, Dessau, Essen, Nordhausen, Hamburg, Kiel, Plauen, Potsdam and Bremen. His pilots on operations were <span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":200,"335559740":276}">Wing Commander Baigent and Flying Officer Rothwell. </span>He also flew Operation Manna to Rotterdam, and Operation Exodus to Lubeck and Juvencourt.

Andrew Bain's observer’s and air gunner’s flying log book
Covers the period from 26 June 1942 until August 1943. In June 1946 stamped by the RAF Central Depository ‘Death Presumed’. He qualified as an air gunner on the 31 October 1942 and as an observer on the 9 October 1942. He identifies his flying duties as bomb aimer, bombardier, navigator u/t, navigator, acting navigator, photography. He was based at RAF Oudtshoorn, and Port Alfred, South Africa, for training and then for operational training at RAF Cottesmore, then at RAF Waterbeach and finally with 75 New Zealand Squadron at RAF Mepal. Operationally he took part dropping mines off the north Dutch coast and bombing Hamburg, Essen, Nuremberg and Turin. He flew with the following pilots; Dold, Scott, Wessells, Harper, Oughton, Fenwick, Allan, Puntis, Charles, Jackson, De Clerk, Maxfield, Termorshuizen, Brooks, Scott, Jackson, Norton, Grieff, Meter, Le Seuer, Levine, Gillett, Geotzee, Tucker, Van Niekerk while training in South Africa. In the UK he flew with Klim, Tricks, Maxwell, Freeman, Fern, Quinton, Fear, Crouch, Halgro, Smith, McLoughlan, Biley, Youseman, Boyd, Lofthouse, and Patrick. His pilot on operations was Sergeant Fear. He flew in the following aircraft; Avro Anson, Airspeed Oxford, Vickers Wellington and Short Stirling. As part of his UK training he identifies 'Infra Red Bombing'. On some of the training flights he states that he was 'Nav (B)Acting Air Bomber'. Also trained on autopilot 'George'. The last recorded flight was on the 23 August 1943.

Details his flying training, operations flown and post war flying. He was stationed at RAF Pembrey, RAF Oakley, RAF Westcott, RAF Woolfox Lodge and RAF Mepal. Aircraft flown were Anson, Wellington, Lancaster. He flew a total of 13 operations with 75 squadron, 12 daylight and one night time, on targets in Germany and the Netherlands. Targets were, Osterfeld, Kelsenkirchen, Kamen, Dortmund, Wanne Eickel, Huls, Munster, Hamm, Kiel and Heligoland. He also flew Operation Manna to The Hague and was recalled from an Operation Exodus flight. He did one Cook's Tour flight. His pilots on operations were Wing Commander Baigent and Flying Officer Good. On 30 October 1945 he was posted to Coastal Command.
