C E Flint’s Flying Log Book covering the period from 18 December 1943 to 03 October 1946 detailing his flying training and operations flown as Wireless Operator. He was stationed at RAF Madley (4 Radio School), RAF Bishop Court (7 Air Observer’s School), RAF Upper Heyford (16 OTU), RAF Woolfox Lodge (1651 HCU), RAF Witchford and RAF Graveley (115 Squadron) RAF Warboys (ALGT course), RAF Dunkeswell (16 Ferry Unit), RAF Fayid (178 and 70 Squadrons) and RAF Shallufa (70 Squadron). Aircraft flown in were Dominie, Proctor, Anson, Wellington and Lancaster. He flew on four night and one day operation (total 5) plus three Operation Manna supply drops, eight Operation Exodus repatriation operations and three Operation Dodge flights to Italy with 115 Squadron. Targets were Huls, Hamm, Heligoland and Potsdam. Pilot was Flight Lieutenant Hooper.

Pilots flying log book 2 for L V Rosser, covering the period from 22 July 1943 to 6 August 1945. Detailing his instructor duties, flying training and operations flown. He was stationed at RAF Edgehill (aka RAF Shenington), RAF Wing, RAF Little Horwood, RAF Gamston, RAF Bottesford, RAF Witchford, RAF Blyton and RAF Abingdon. S Guyans’ Air Gunner’s Flying Log Book covering the period 24 January 1943 to 17 Mar 1945. Detailing his flying training and operations flown as air gunner. He was stationed at RAF Penrhos (9 [O] AFU), RAF Marham (1483 Gunnery Flight), RAF Waterbeach (1651 HCU), RAF Ridgewell & RAF Wratting Common (90 Squadron), RAF Edgehill (RAF Shenington) (12 OTU), RAF Dalcross (2 AGS) and RAF Witchford (115 Squadron). Aircraft flown in were Blenheim, Wellington, Anson, Henley, Martinet, Stirling and Lancaster. He flew on 23 night operations with 90 Squadron and 18 day and 10 night operations with 115 Squadron. Targets were Bordeaux, Boulogne, Le Creusot, Modane, Bochum, Chemnitz, Cologne, Dortmund, Dresden, Duisburg, Dusseldorf, Essen, Frisian Islands, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Hannover, Heinsberg, Hohenbudberg, Homberg, Huls, Kamen, Krefeld, Mannheim, Munich, Neuss, Nuremburg, Osterfeld, Peenemunde, Remscheid, Trier, Turin, Wesel and Wuppertal. Description
An account of the resource
Flying log book (Partial) for P H C Watson, air gunner, covering the period from 13 February 1944 to 7 June 1944 and for April 1945. Detailing some of his operations flown. He was stationed at RAF Elsham Wolds, RAF Ludford Magna and RAF Witchford. Aircraft flown in was Lancaster. He flew 10 operations as indicated in his log book, the last two being part of a second tour. These were with 101 squadron and 115 squadron. Targets were, Schweinfurt, Augsburg, Frankfurt, Essen, Nurnburg and Berneval le Grand. His pilots on operations were Sergeant Dixon, Flight Sergeant Arnold, Flight Sergeant Carson, Flight Lieutenant Robson and Flight Lieutenant Dick.

<a href="https://losses.internationalbcc.co.uk/loss/218400/"></a>52 items. The collection concerns Warrant Officer David Geach (1394781 Royal Air Force) and contains his diaries, correspondence, photographs of his crew, his log book, cuttings and items relating to being a prisoner of war. After training in Canada, he flew operations as a bomb aimer with 623 and 115 Squadrons until he was shot down 24 March 1944 and became a prisoner of war. He was instrumental in erecting a memorial plaque to the Air Crew Reception Centre at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. <br />The collection also contains a scrap book of photographs.<br /><br />Additional information on his crew is available via the <a href="https://losses.internationalbcc.co.uk/loss/218400/">IBCC Losses Database.</a><br /><br />The collection has been donated to the IBCC Digital Archive by Harry Wilkins and catalogued by Barry Hunter.

Flying log book for aircrew other than pilot for David Geach, bomb aimer, covering the period from 22 November 1942 to 2 September 1952. Detailing his flying training, operations flown, being shot down and becoming a prisoner of war, returning to flying, post war with 7 Squadron. He was stationed at RCAF Dafoe, RCAF Rivers, RAF Bobbington (aka RAF Halfpenny Green), RAF Hixon, RAF Woolfox Lodge, RAF Downham Market, RAF Waterbeach, RAF Witchford and RAF Upwood. Aircraft flown in were, Anson, Bolingbroke, Wellington, Stirling, Lancaster and Lincoln. He flew a total of 15 operations, 1 Nickel operation with No.30 Operational Training Unit, 2 night operations with 623 Squadron and 12 night operations with 115 Squadron. Targets were, Rennes, Frisian Islands, Bordeaux, Berlin, Brunswick, Stuttgart, Augsburg and Frankfurt. His pilot on operations was Pilot Officer McCann. Shot down on his seventh operation, to Berlin.

An account of the resource
Collection contains 26 items and concerns Squadron Leader Denis Clyde-Smith Distinguished Service Order, Distinguished Flying Cross, who joined the Royal Air Force and trained as a pilot in 1937. He flew in the anti aircraft cooperation role including remotely piloted Queen Bee aircraft before serving on Battle aircraft on 32 Squadron. He completed operational tours on Wellington with 115 and 218 Squadrons and Wellington and Lancaster with 9 Squadron after which he went to the aircraft and armament experimental establishment at Boscombe Down. The collection consists of two logbooks, aircraft histories of some of the aircraft he flew, photographs of people and aircraft, newspaper articles and gallantry award certificate.
The collection has been loaned to the IBCC Digital Archive for digitisation by John Clyde-Smith and catalogued by Nigel Huckins.
