Navigator’s, air bomber’s and air gunner’s flying log book for P F Andrews, wireless operator/air gunner, covering the period from 16 August 1943 to 13 December 1945. Detailing his flying training, operations flown and post war flying. It also gives details of being shot down and baling out over Denmark and landing on Zeeland and becoming a prisoner of war and being liberated by the Americans at Moosburg, Germany. He was stationed at RAF Yatesbury, RAF Barrow, RAF Lossiemouth, RAF Rufforth, RAF Melbourne and RAF Upavon. Aircraft flown in were, Dominie, Proctor, Anson, Wellington, Halifax and Oxford. He flew a total of 19 operations with 10 Squadron; 3 daylight and 16 night-time operations, before being shot down on his 19th operation. Targets were, Essen, Cologne, Gelsenkirchen, Munster, Sterkrade, Duisburg, Hagen, Osnabruck, Bingen, Hannover and Bohlen. His pilot on operations was Flying Officer Grayshan. Navigator’s, air bomber’s, air gunner’s and flight engineer’s flying log book for Warrant Officer Colin Cole from 5 August 1943 to 23 September 1946. Detailing training schedule and operations flown. Served at RAF Yatesbury, RAF Mona, RAF Barrow in Furness, RAF Market Harborough, RAF Winthorpe, RAF Syerston, RAF Woodhall Spa, RAF Digri (Bengal) and RAF Scampton. Aircraft flown were Anson, Proctor, Dominie, Wellington, Stirling, Lancaster and Lincoln. He carried out a total of ten daylight and one night-time operations with 617 Squadron at RAF Woodhall Spa as a wireless operator on the following targets in Germany, Netherlands, Norway and Poland: Bergen, Dortmund-Ems Canal, Hamburg, Ijmuiden, Lützow, Oslo Fjord, Rotterdam, Tirpitz Tromsø, Urft Dam and Viesleble [sic] (actually Bielefeld) viaduct. <span>His pilots on operations were </span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":200,"335559740":276}">Flight Lieutenant Leavitt and Flight Lieutenant Price. </span>Annotations include bombing the Tirpitz and an attack by an enemy jet aircraft. Operation Exodus and Cook’s tour flights are included, as is a tour of India in 1946.

Raymond Harris's Pilot's log book
Raymond Harris was a pilot who flew the Lancaster on 34 operations with No 9 Squadron. The log book runs from 19 September 1942 to 24th August 1945. After his initial flying at the No 9 EFTS at RAF Ansty, flying in the Tiger Moth, Raymond went out to No 32 EFTS RAF Bowden, Alberta, Canada, flying the Stearman and occasionally the Tiger Moth. He remained there until December 1942 when he was posted to No 37 SFTS, Calgary, Alberta to fly the Harvard and occasionally the Anson. He remained there until April 1943 when he graduated and returned to Britain. Raymond was posted to 3 (P) AFU RAF South Cerney, flying the Oxford. He attended a BAT course at No 1532 BAT Flt, RAF Bagdown Farm in August. He was posted to 17 OTU, RAF Silverstone & RAF Turweston, 2 November 1943 to fly the Wellington. In April 1944 he was moved to 1661 HCU at RAF Winthorpe flying the Stirling, until May when he was posted to 5 LFS at RAF Syerstone flying the Lancaster. In May Raymond was posted to 9 Squadron at RAF Bardney flying the Lancaster. He did his first operation to Nantes on the 22 May and his second with his crew to Martin-de-Varreville on the 28 May. He did operations to Ferme D'urville, Point du Hoe, Argentan, Gelsenkirchen, Limoge, Prouville,Vitry le-francois, Creil, Culmont Chalimoray, Vileneuve st George, Stuttgart, Camagnes, Rilly la Montagne, Bois de Cassen, Trossy, Etaples, Lorient, La Pallice, Bordeax, Givorg, Brest, Girzerigen, Karlsruhe, Flushing, Tromso (Tirpitz), Urft Dam, Munich, Bergen, Ijmuiden, Altenbeken, Dortmund-Ems Canal, Sassnitz, Arnsberg, Vlotho, Bremen and Swinemunde. He flew a Cook's Tour and also took part in one of the Post Mortem operations. He was posted to 50 Squadron at RAF Sturgate in June. The last flight in the Log book was on 24 August in Lancaster PA474 which now flies with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.<br /><br /><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW73911805 BCX0">This item was sent to the IBCC Digital Archive already in digital form. Robert Mitchell’s flying log book
Robert Mitchell’s Flying Log Book, from 19th July 1943 to 7th January 1954, recording training, operations and other post-war duties as a Pilot. No flights are recorded in the years 1947-1950. Based at RAF Long Marston (No. 24 OTU), RAF Topcliffe (1659 Heavy Conversion unit), RAF Leeming (429 RCAF Squadron), RAF Skipton, RCAF Station Dartmouth Nova Scotia (RCAF Eastern Air Command) and Windsor Airport Ontario (Operation Chipmunk). Aircraft in which flown: Wellington III, Wellington X, Halifax, Lancaster I, Lancaster III, Lancaster X, Oxford, Beechcraft Expeditor, Dakota, Anson V, Hudson and Chipmunk. Records 33 operations in total but only 24 in detail (19 night, 5 day). Targets in Germany and Norway are: Bochum, Castrop-Rauxel, Dortmund, Duisburg, Dusseldorf, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Hanover, Karlsruhe, Kiel, Kiel Canal, Mainz, Neuss, Oberhausen, Oslo, Oslo Fjord, Soest, Wanne-Eickel and Zweibrucken. His pilots for his first 'second dickie' operations were Flying Officer Gillis and Flying Officer Barlow.
Also includes letters relating to Canadian war service call-up.

Roy Maddock-Lyon's flying log book for navigators, air bombers, air gunners and flight engineers
Flying log book for navigators, air bombers, air gunners, flight engineers for Roy Maddock-Lyon, flight engineer, covering the period from 12 June 1944 to 2 May 1946. Detailing his flying training, operations flown and post war flying duties. He was stationed at, RAF St Athan, RAF Rufforth, RAF Melbourne, RAF Linton-on-Ouse and RAF Wethersfield. Aircraft flown in were, Halifax, C-47 and Oxford. He flew a total of 18 operations with 10 squadron, 2 daylight and 16 night. Targets were, Essen, Cologne, Gelsenkirchen, Munster, Sterkrade, Duisburg, Hagen, Osnabruck, Bingen, Hannover, Bohlen and baling out over Denmark on operation 18 on 14 February 1945, gardening. His pilot on operations was Flying Officer Grayshan. He evaded and returned to duty on 27 February from Sweden.

William Homewood's Royal Air Force Navigator’s, Air Bomber’s and Air Gunner’s Flying Log Book
W R Homewood’s Navigator’s, Air Bomber’s and Air Gunner’s Flying Log Book covering the period from 2 May 1944 to 12 March 1945, detailing his flying training and operations flown as Air Bomber. He was stationed at SAAF East London (41 Air School), RAF Lossiemouth (20 OTU), RAF Riccall (1658 HCU) and RAF Snaith (51 Squadron). Aircraft flown in were Anson, Oxford, Wellington and Halifax. He flew on 26 night operations and nine day operations (total 36) with 51 Squadron. He also flew three Operation Manna flights and one repatriation flight. His pilot on operations was Flying Officer Murray. Targets were Sterkrade, Kleve, Bochum, Duisburg, Wilhelmshaven, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Gelsenkirchen, Julich, Munster, Essen, Osnabruck, Oppau, Hanover, Hanau, Saarbruchen, Dulmen, Magdeburg, Stuttgart, Mainz, Wann Eichel, Nordstern, Reisholz, Worms, Kamen, Hemmingstedt, Hamburg, Dortmund and Wuppertal.
