K Watson’s navigator’s, air bomber’s and air gunner’s flying log book. One
Flight Sergeant K. Watson’s RAF Navigator’s, Air Bomber’s and Air Gunner’s Flying Log Book, from 5th October 1943 to 23rd December 1953, detailing training and operations as a Flight Engineer. Also includes post-war duties with Coastal Command. He was stationed at RAF Woolfox Lodge (1665 Heavy Conversion Unit), RAF Witchford (513 Squadron), RAF Leicester East, RAF Fairford and Great Dunmow (620 Squadron), RAF Lindholme (230 OCU), RAF Wyton (44 Squadron), RAF Leuchars and Kinloss (120 Squadron) and RAF Gibraltar (224 Squadron). Aircraft in which flown: Stirling I, Stirling III, Stirling IV, Lancaster, Lincoln and Shackleton. He flew a total of 31 operations (4 day, 27 night) with 620 Squadron in France, the Netherlands and Norway. Most are logged simply as 'Special Duties', and consist mainly of airborne operations such as glider towing, paratoop dropping and resupply operations. On June 5-6th 1944 he records participation in operations Tonga and Mallard, part of the D-day Normandy landings. His pilot on operations was Flight Lieutenant Gawith.

Robert Mitchell’s flying log book
Robert Mitchell’s Flying Log Book, from 19th July 1943 to 7th January 1954, recording training, operations and other post-war duties as a Pilot. No flights are recorded in the years 1947-1950. Based at RAF Long Marston (No. 24 OTU), RAF Topcliffe (1659 Heavy Conversion unit), RAF Leeming (429 RCAF Squadron), RAF Skipton, RCAF Station Dartmouth Nova Scotia (RCAF Eastern Air Command) and Windsor Airport Ontario (Operation Chipmunk). Aircraft in which flown: Wellington III, Wellington X, Halifax, Lancaster I, Lancaster III, Lancaster X, Oxford, Beechcraft Expeditor, Dakota, Anson V, Hudson and Chipmunk. Records 33 operations in total but only 24 in detail (19 night, 5 day). Targets in Germany and Norway are: Bochum, Castrop-Rauxel, Dortmund, Duisburg, Dusseldorf, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Hanover, Karlsruhe, Kiel, Kiel Canal, Mainz, Neuss, Oberhausen, Oslo, Oslo Fjord, Soest, Wanne-Eickel and Zweibrucken. His pilots for his first 'second dickie' operations were Flying Officer Gillis and Flying Officer Barlow.
Also includes letters relating to Canadian war service call-up.

Wireless Operator/Air Gunners flying log book covering the period from 8 October 1943 to April 1953. Detailing his flying training and operations flown. He was stationed at RAF Yatesbury (2 Radio School), RAF Evanton (8 AGS), RAF Wigtown (1(Observer’s) AFU), RAF Finningley (18 OTU), RAF Blyton (1662 HCU), RAF Hemswell (1 LFS), RAF Kelstern & RAF Scampton (625 Squadron), RAF Doncaster (9 RFS). Aircraft flown in were Dominie, Anson, Wellington, Halifax, Lancaster. He flew a total of 14 night-time and 5 daylight bomber operations (total 19) plus two Operation Manna “spam dropping” flights and one Cook’s Tour flight with 625 Squadron, targets were Essen, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Bochum, Dortmund, Bonn, Zeitz, Mannheim, Bottrup, Geilenkirchen, Wanne Eichel, St Vith, Rheydt, Heligoland and Neuss. His pilots on operations were Flight Lieutenant Treherne, Squadron Leader Russell and Flying Officer Bailey. From 1951 to 1953 he flew as RAFVR with 9 Reserve Flying School.

He was stationed at RAF Cambridge (22 EFTS) RCAF Neepawa (35 EFTS), RCAF Weyburn (41 SFTS), RAF Shellingford (3 EFTS), RAF Church Lawford (18 PAFU), RAF Fiskerton (1514 BAT Flight), RAF Silverstone (17 OTU), RAF Swinderby (1654 HCU), RAF East Kirkby (57 Squadron), RAF Syerston (5 LFS), RAF Finningley (BCIS), RAF Wigsley (1654 HCU), RAF Welford (1336 TSCU), RAF Palam (353 Squadron), RAF Meiktelia (10 Squadron). He had two Red Endorsements. Aircraft flown in were Tiger Moth, Anson, Oxford, Wellington, Halifax, Lancaster and Dakota.
He flew a total of 30 operations with 57 Squadron (24 by night and six by day), targets were Darmstadt, Koningsberg, Bergoneuse, Stuttgart, Bremerhaven, Rheydt, Munster, Karlsruhe, Kaiserlauten, Bremen, Brunswick, Nuremburg, Dusseldorf, Dortmund-Ems Canal, Hamburg, Gravenhorst, Trondheim, Munich, Heinbach dam, Oslo, Royan, Leuna, Siegen, Cologne, Wilhelmshaven, Veerk, Homburg, Duren and Ladbergen. His pilot for his first 'second dickie' operation was Squadron Leader Fairburn. After December 1944 he instructed and then flew transport operations in the Far East.

John Dent's flying log book
Flying log book for J Dent, flight engineer, covering the period from 25 August 1944 to 8 May 1947. Detailing his flying training, operations flown and post war duties with 44 Squadron, air ministry film unit and 148 Squadron. He was stationed at RAF St Athan, RAF Wigsley, RAF Syerston, RAF Spilsby, RAF Mepal, RAF Mildenhall, RAF Aston Down, RAF Wyton and RAF Upwood. Aircraft flown in were Stirling, Lancaster, Lincoln, Auster, Argus, Lancastrian, Anson, and Oxford. He flew a total of 13 operations, 2 Operation Exodus and 4 Operation Dodge with 44 Squadron. Targets were Homberg, Dusseldorf, Gravenhorst, Harburg, Geissen, Heinbach, Munich, St Vith, Houffalize, Ladbergen, Royan, Juvincourt, Brussels and Bari. his pilots on operations were Flying Officer Smith, Flying Officer Plenterlieth, Flight Lieutenant Webster DFM and Flying Officer Spencer.

Extract from Norman William Smith’s air gunner logbook covering operations between 12 August 1944 and 3 December 1944 flying on Lancaster with 166 Squadron C Flight. 16 daylight and 15 night operations are recorded. Targets were Rieme, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Saarbrucken, Stettin, Essen, Cologne, Bochum, Dortmund. Wanne-Eickel, Abbeville, Le Havre, Calais, Cap Griz Nez, Westkapelle, Emerich, Gelsenkirchen, Duren, Karlsruhr and mine laying. His pilot on operations was Pilot Officer Sisson.

J S Ross’s pilots flying log book. Two
Pilots flying log book for J S Ross covering the period from 21 January 1943 to 12 March 1946. Detailing his instructor duties, operations flown, flying training and post war duties with 246 Squadron and 511 Squadron. He was stationed at RAF Tatenhill, RAF Grove, RAF Ramsbury, RAF Little Rissington, RAF Windrush, RAF Bruntingthorpe, RAF Bitteswell, RAF Marston Moor, RAF Pocklington, RAF Merryfield, RAF Nutts Corner, RAF Holmsley South and RAF Lyneham. Aircraft flown in were Oxford, Magister, Wellington, Halifax, Stirling, York, Dakota, and Lancaster. He flew a total of 34 operations with 102 Squadron. Targets were St Martin L’Hortier, Domleger, Mimoyecque, Caen, St Nazaire, Hauts Boissons, Stuttgart, Wanne Eickel, Le Foret de Nieppe, La Belle Croix les Eroyerus, Somain, Brunswick, Sterkrade, Lumbres, Venlo, Gelsenkirchen, Buer, Duisburg, Essen, Dusseldorf, Julech, Horten, Hagan, Soest, Osnabruck and Drams Fjord. G M (Max) Langworthy - Royal Australian Air Force Flying Log Book
Royal Australian Air Force Log Book for Max Langworthy, pilot. Covers period 8 January 1943 to 15 February 1958. Includes his training, operations and post-war flying. He was based at RAF Babdown Farm, RAF Bibury, RAF Morton in Marsh, RAF Rufforth, RAF Driffield and RAF Foulsham. Aircraft flown were Tiger Moth, Anson, Oxford, Halifax and Auster. Serving with 462 Squadron he flew 27 operations of which 3 were daylight and 24 night. Operations 12 and onwards were providing radio counter measures. Targets were Walcheren, Dusseldorf, Bochum, Gelsenkirchen, Sterkrade, Essen, Duisburg, Hagen, Soest, Osnabruck, Hamburg, Mannheim, Cochem, Mainz, Heilbronn, Krefeld, Neuss, Kaiserlautern, Dortmund-Ems canal, Frankfurt, Stade, Lubeck and Wangerooge. He also flew 6 Cook's Tours flights. Flying Log Book for J B McManus, pilot. Covers the period from 22 December 1942 to 29 April 1948 and his training, operations and post-war flying in Australia and Japan. He was based at RAF Clyffe Pypard, RAF Wymeswold, RAF Weston on the Green, RAF Moreton in Marsh, RAF Rufforth, RAF Driffield, RAF Edzell and RAF Hawarden. Aircraft flown were Tiger Moth, Wirraway, Oxford, Wellington, Halifax, Albemarle, Anson, Beaufort, Proctor, Mosquito, Martinet, Master, Lancaster, Lincoln, Avenger, Dominie, Warwick and P-51 Mustang. With 466 Squadron he flew on 33 operations (including one recall); 17 daylight and 16 daylight. Targets were Hamburg, La Pourchinte, Soesterberg, Le Havre, Gelsenkirchen, Kiel, Neuss, Calais, Bottrop, Wilhemshaven, Hannover, Essen, Walcheren, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Bochum, Julich, Munster, Sterkrade, Bingen, Mulheim, St Vith, Opladen, and Koblenz. Aircraft flown were Tiger Moth, Wirraway, Oxford, Wellington, Halifax, Beaufighter and C-47. Serving wih 76 Squadron and 462 Squadron he flew 32 operations; 12 at night and 20 daylight. Not all targets are legible but those that are include Foret de Croc, Foret de Nieppe, Villers Bocage, Dijon, Brest, Sterkrade, Soesterberg, Le Havre, Gelsenkirchen, Kiel, Boulogne, Dusseldorf, Bochum, Duisburg, Essen and Cologne.
