R G Blamires Observer’s and Air Gunner’s Flying Log Book covering the period from 25 November 1942 to 10 May 1946, detailing his flying training and operations flown as Navigator. He was stationed at South African AF Port Elizabeth (42 Air School), RAF Millom (2 OAFU), RAF Wymeswold (28 OTU), RAF Blyton (1662 HCU), RAF Hemswell (1 LFS), RAF Elsham Wolds (103 Squadron) and RAF Scampton and RAF Lindholme (57 Squadron). Aircraft flown in Anson, Wellington, Halifax, Lancaster and Lincoln. He flew on one night operation with 1662 HCU, and 17 night and 13 day operations with 103 Squadron, total 31. He also flew three Operation Manna and three Operation Dodge POW repatriation flights. Targets were Orleans, Duisburg, Dortmund, Aachen, Calais, St Martin-de-Varreville, Vire, Flers, Gelsenkirchen, Cahagnes, Le Havre, Belle Croix les Bruyeres, Trossy St Maximon, Paulliac, Blayes, Fontenay, Le Culot, mining Stettin, Rieme, Russelheim, mining Danzig, Chapelle-Notre-Dame, Stettin, Agenville, Eindhoven, Leeuwarden and Neuss.

Aircraft flown: Anson, Oxford, Wellington XIII, Wellington XIV, Warwick. Records 30 sorties, including bombing, anti-submarine patrols, armed/offensive reconnaissance, anti-shipping strikes, mine laying, flare illumination, convoy escorts, leaflet dropping and supply drops. Named targets/areas include: Portolargo (Leros Island), Karlovasi Harbour (Samos), Chalcis, Iraklion aerodrome (Crete), Aegean Sea, and Kalamaki. His pilot on operations with 38 Squadron was F/O Webster. On 17 February 1945 he notes “President Roosevelt aboard Cruiser Quincey”.

The observer's and air gunner's flying log book for Flight Lieutenant John Francis Banks, born I July 1922, (1578295 Royal Air Force) from 28 March 1943 to 9 April 1946. Detailing his training and operations flown. Served at 41 Air School South Africa, Advanced Flying Unit RAF Wigtown, 84 Operational Training Unit RAF Desborough, 192 Squadron RAF Foulsham, 221 Group and 47 Squadron South East Asia Air Force. Aircraft flown were Oxford, Anson, Wellington, Tiger Moth, Dakota, Expeditor and Mosquito. He carried out 40 operations, 32 night time and 8 day time as bomb aimer. All operations were flown in Wellington aircraft with Flying Officer Clarkson as pilot. The operations were to the coasts of Belgium, Denmark, France Germany and Netherlands, the Bay of Biscay and Western Approaches, Channel Islands, Brest, Calais, Cherbourg and the Frisian Islands.

Observer's and air gunner's flying log book for Alan Edwin Camlin, air gunner, covering the period 12 November 1943 to 12 January 1946 and detailing his training and operations flown. He was stationed at No.7 Air Gunner School RAF Stormy Down, No.11 Operational Training Unit RAF Oakley and RAF Wescott, No.26 Operational Training Unit RAF Wing, 1657 Heavy Conversion Unit RAF Shepherd's Grove, No.3 Lancaster Finishing School RAF Feltwell, Navigation Training Unit RAF Warboys and 7 Squadron (PFF) RAF Oakington. All of his 46 operations, 29 night and 17 day, were flown in Lancasters with 7 Squadron. During one day time operation Alan was wounded. Targets in France, Germany and the Netherlands, were to Boulogne, Calais, Bochum, Bottrop, Bremen, Chemnitz, Cleve, Cologne, Dessau, Dortmund, Duisburg, Dülmen, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Hanau, Hannover, Jülich, Kamen, Karlsruhe, Kiel, Leipzig, Mainz, Mülheim, Munich, Osnabrück, Nürnberg, Stuttgart, Wanne Eickel, Wilmhelmshaven, Worms and Venlo. He flew one Operation Manna flight and one Operation Exodus flight. His pilot for 45 operations was Flight Lieutenant Rawson and for one was Wing Commander Cox.

Navigators, air bombers and air gunners flying log book for Gordon Mercier, air gunner, covering the period from 17 October 1943 to 11 April 1945. Detailing his flying training and operations flown. He was stationed at RAF Stormey Down, RAF Abingdon, RAF Riccall, RAF Snaith, RAF Marston Moor, RAF Breighton and RAF North Creake. Aircraft flown in were Anson, Whitley and Halifax. He flew a total of 44 operations, 12 daylight and 7 night operations with 51 squadron, 4 daylight and one night operations with 78 squadron, 20 night operations with 171 squadron. Targets were Massy Palaiseau, Amiens, Le Grande Rossignol, Mimoyecques, Villers Bocage, St Martin Le Hortier, Foret de Nieppe, Anderbleck, Bois de Cassan, Hazebruck, Caen, Foret de Mormal, Somain, Tractorable, Tirlemont, Kiel, Brest, Boulogne, Calais, Cap Gris nez, Aachen, Wessel, Luxembourg, Koblenz, Frankfurt, Mainz, Antwerp, Giessen, St Hubert, Liege, Arlon, Nadrin, Namur, Haslet, Trischen, Munchen Gladbach, Uden, North Sea and Leipzig. His pilots on operations were Warrant Officer Digby, flight lieutenant Hopkins and Pilot officer Gilchrist.

Description
An account of the resource
Frederick Pick’s Wireless Operator’s Flying Log Book covering the period from 05 September 1943 to 07 April 1945. Detailing his flying training and operations flown as wireless operator. He was stationed at RAF Yatesbury (2 Radio School), RAF Millom (2 OAFU}, RAF Upper Heyford (16 OTU), RAF Syerston (5 LFS), RAF East Kirkby (57 Squadron) and RAF Balderton (227 Squadron) and RAF Strubby (227 Squadron). Aircraft flown in were Dominie, Proctor, Anson, Wellington, Stirling and Lancaster. He flew on seven night four day operations with 57 Squadron and 19 night and three day operations with 227 Squadron, to Le Havre, Darmstadt, Stuttgart, Boulogne, Bremerhaven, Munchen - Gladbach, Wilhelmshaven, Bremen, Flushing sea dykes, Brunswick, Nuremburg, Walcheren, Harburg, Duren, Ladbergen, Munich, Heilbron, St Vith, Houffalize, Gravenhorst, Politz, Merseberg, Brux, Siegen, Horten, Lutzendorf, Hamburg, Wesel, Dortmund and Molbis. Total 33. His pilot on operations was Flight Lieutenant Robertshawe. On an operation to Munich on the 26 November his main navigation aid caught fire. Having extinguished the fire he used what equipment he had to assist the navigator to bomb successfully and return to base. He was awarded a Green Endorsement on 12 January 1945 by the Group Captain O.C. RAF Balderton.

Royal Australian Air Force flying log book for Ronald Hickey, pilot. Covers the period from 9 August 1942 to 23 August 1950. It details his training, Bomber Command operations, flights in Transport Command and post-war civilian flying. He was based at RAF Hullavington, RAF South Cerney, RAF Babdown Farm, RAF Church Broughton, RAF Marston Moor and RAF Driffield. Aircraft flown were Tiger Moth, Anson, Oxford, Wellington, Halifax and C-47 Dakota. With 466 Squadron and 462 Squadron he flew 35 operations. <p>Flying log book for W.J. Martin, flight engineer covering the period from 3 April 1944 to 13 November 1945. Detailing his flying training, operations and instructional duties. He was stationed at RAF East Kirkby, RAF St Athan, RAF Swinderby, RAF Syerston, RAF Woolfox Lodge and RAF Cottesmore. Aircraft flown in were Stirling and Lancaster. He flew a total of 30 operations with 57 Squadron, 12 daylight and 18 night. Targets were Caumont, Joigny, Trossy St Maximin, St Leu d'Esserent, L' Isle-Adam, Bordeaux, Brest, Bergueneuse, Deelan, Sequeville de Capagne, Chatellerault, Brunswick, Stettin, Koningsberg, Mönchengladbach, Darmstadt, Stuttgart, Le Havre, Boulogne, Wilhemshaven, Bremmerhaven, Munster, Karlsruhe, Kaiserslauten, Heligoland, minelaying and Trondheim. <span>His pilots on operations were Flight Lieutenant </span>Ottewell and Flying Officer Donkin. The log book also records Cook's Tour flights and post war civilian flights as a passenger up to 2007. Notes, photographs and visit to BBMF are also included</p>

Pilots flying log book for J H Bird, covering the period from 29 March 1943 to 24 August 1945. Detailing his flying training, operations flown and instructor duties. He was stationed at RAF Induna, RAF Kumalo, RAF Gianaclis, RAF Peplow, and Italy. Aircraft flown in were Tiger Moth, Oxford, Wellington, Albemarle and Horsa. He flew a total of 38 night operations with 104 squadron. Targets were Porto Farraio, Orvieto, Valmontone Road, Viterbo Road, San Stephano, River Danube, Giurgiu, Terni Road, Almasfuzito, Trieste, Feuersbrunn Aerodrome, Bucharest, Brod, Milan, Fiume, Kraljevo, Valence, St Valentin, Miskolc, Bologna, Pesaro, Ferrara, Tatoi aerodrome, Brescia, Szekesfehervar, Salonika, Kalamaki and Verona. His pilots for his first 'second dickie' operations were Flight Sergeant Holmes and Warrant Officer Harrison.
