Royal Canadian Air Force flying log book for aircrew other than pilot of Flight Lieutenant Roger Calvert from 25 March 1943 to 6 July 1945. Detailing training and operations flown. Served at RAF Cranfield, RAF Great Massingham, RAF Ouston, RAF Twinwood Farm and RAF West Raynham. Aircraft flown were Anson, Beaufighter, Mosquito, Oxford, Tiger Moth and Wellington. He carried out a total of 32 intruder operations as a navigator with 141 Squadron from RAF West Raynham on the following targets in France, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands: Bochum, Bremen, Darmstadt, Dieppe, Dortmund, Dresden, Emden, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Kiel, Mainz, Merseberg (Leipzig), Nuremberg, Oberhausen, Osnabruck, Pante-Lunne airfield, Paris, Pas de Calais, Politz, the Ruhr, Russelhelm, Schlesvig, Steenwjik aerodrome, Stettin, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Zeist and Zuider Zee. His pilots on operations were Squadron Leader Thatcher and Flying Officer Rimer. The log book is well annotated and contains a green endorsement and several photographs of aircraft flown and attacked. Notes include an air sea rescue sortie, the sighting of a V-2 and one Me-110 claimed.

The incomplete log book includes 62 daylight and night time operations to French, German, Dutch and Polish targets: battle fronts, Bayeux, Bois de Cassin, Chemnitz, Coblenz, Caen, Cagny, Calais, Cannantre, Cap Gris Nez (Calais), Disemont, Eindohven, Foret de Nieppe, Fort d’Englos, Harpenerweg, Hemmingstadt, Hildersheim, Lens, Lumbacs, Middel Straete, Miseburg oil refinery, Moerdish bridges, Montdidier, Nucourt, Nurnburg, Pollitz, Royan, Royen, Saint-Lô, St Philbert, Bochum, Chemnitz, Dessau, Dortmund, Dresden, Duisburg, Essen, Goch, Hamburg, Hanau, Hannover, Kiel, Kleve, Koblenz, Leuna, Mannheim, Münster, Neuss, Osnabrück, Renescure, Russleheim, Saarbrucken, Soest, Stuttgart, Szczecin, Vaires near Paris and Zeitz. Harry Thomas Ansell's flying log book for flight engineers
The log book covers the training and operational duties of Flight Engineer Sergeant Harry Thomas Ansell, from 14 April 1944 to 24 May 1945. He trained at RAF Torquay, RAF St Athan, RAF Stockport and was stationed at RAF Wigsley, RAF Syerston, RAF Skellingthorpe and RAF Coningsby. Aircraft flown in were Stirling and Lancaster. He flew 34 operations with 61 Squadron, 15 daylight and 19 night, and 18 night operations with 83 Squadron. Targets in Belgium, France, Germany and Norway were Limoges, Prouville, Vitry, Doullens, Chalindrey, Villeneuve-St-Georges, Caen, Revigny, Courtrai, Kiel, Donges, Saint-Cyr, Lyons, Stuttgart, Cahienes, Joigny-Laroche, Pas de Calais, Bois de Cassan, Saint-Leu-d'Esserent, Secqueville, Châtellerault, Bordeaux, Rüsselsheim, Königsberg, Rollencourt, Brest, Le Havre, Darmstadt, Boulogne, Bremerhaven, Rheydt, Munich, Heilbronn, Glessen, Politz, Merseberg, Brux, Karlsruhe, Ladbergen, Dresden, Rositz, Gravenhorst, Bohlen, Horten Fiord, Molbis and Lutskendorf. His pilot on operations was Flight Lieutenant Inness.

Recording his training as an air gunner in Canada and England, two completed tours with 142 Squadron RAF based in North Africa, subsequent instructor duties, and operations with 31 Squadron South African Air Force (205 Heavy Bomber Group RAF) based in Italy. He was stationed at RCAF Mont-Joli Quebec (No 9 Bombing & Gunnery School), RAF Edgehill/Shenington (21 Operational Training Unit), RAF Blida (142 Squadron RAF), RAF Castle Kennedy (No 3 Air Gunnery School) and Celone Airfield (Foggia #1, 31 Squadron SAAF). Aircraft in which flown: Battle, Wellington, Dakota, Hudson, Anson, Martinet and Liberator. He flew 45 operations (all night-time) with 142 Squadron RAF on the following targets in Italy: Alghero, Angitola, Battipaglia, Borgo Rizzo, Cagliari, Caltanissetta, Castelventrano, Catania, Civitavecchia, Eboli, Elmas Decimomannu, Sesto Fiorentino, Formia, Marsala, Messina, Montecorvino airfield, Naples, Olbia, Palermo, Pantelleria, Pizzo, Rome (‘Nickels’), Salerno, Taranto, Villacidro and Viterbo. He also flew 12 night-time operations with 31 squadron SAAF on the following targets in Greece, Italy, Romania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, France and Poland: Heraklion, Trieste, Bucharest, Fiume, Fanto oil refinery (Pardubice), Valence airfield, River Danube (‘Gardening’), Szombathely and Warsaw (dropping supplies). <span>His pilots on operations were</span> Sergeant Walkden and Captain Lawrie. He is recorded as missing from the last of these operations. Comments on operations include: 'Aircraft holed 24 times. 2 through my turret'.

George Alexander Mackie’s pilots flying log book. Two
Pilots flying log book two, for George Alexander Mackie, covering the period from 24 September 1943 to 17 February 1946. Detailing his instructor duties, operations flown and post war flying with 46 squadron. He was stationed at RAF Waterbeach, RAF Chedburgh, RAF Downham Market, RAF Tempsford, RAF Sculthorpe, RAF Oulton, RAF Longtown, RAF Nutts Corner, RAF Prestwick and RAF Stoney Cross. Aircraft flown were Stirling, Fortress, Oxford and Liberator. He flew a total of 22 operations with 214 squadron, 23 night and one daylight. Targets were Pertius D’Antioche, Leverkusen, Laeso, St Omer, Cherbourg, Otignies, Tours, Lanveoc-Poulmic, Kiel Bay, Saumer, Sterkrade, Saint Leu D’Esserent, Schouwen Island, Overflakee Island, Brunswick, Frisians, Bremen, Rotterdam, Darmstadt and Eindhoven. The log book also contains photos of himself, aircraft, crews and various sketches.

Henry Pollock’s navigator’s, air bombers and air gunner’s flying log book
Navigator’s, air bombers and air gunner’s flying log book for H A J Pollock, air gunner, covering the period from 22 October 1943 to 20 May 1955. Detailing his flying training, operations flown and post war flying with number 3 flying training school. He was stationed at RAF Andreas, RAF Abingdon, RAF Stanton Harcourt, RAF Rufforth, RAF Breighton and RAF Feltwell. Aircraft flown in were Anson, Whitley, Martinet, Halifax, Dakota, Liberator, Prentice, Harvard, Provost and Meteor. He flew a total of 36 operations with 78 squadron, 18 Daylight and 17 night operations with 78 squadron and one with number 10 operational training unit. Targets were Compiegne, Mount Candon, Blainville, St Martin L’Hortiers, Caen, Acquet, Bottrop, Kiel, Foret du Croc, Foret du Nieppe, Prouville, Bois de Cassan, Brest, Foret du Marmal, Brunswick, Quensay, Tirlemont, Watten, Homberg-Meerbeck, Lumbres, Soesterberg, Le Havre, Kattegat, Munster, Neuss, Kleve, Duisburg, Wilhelshaven, Essen, Westkappelle and Sterkrade. His pilot on operations was Flight Lieutenant Selby.

J F Latimer’s air bomber’s flying log book covering the period from 9 March 1943 to 8 March 1945. Detailing his flying training and operations flown as air bomber. He was stationed at RCAF Fingal (4 B&GS), RCAF Port Albert (31 ANS), RCAF Jarvis (1 B&GS), RAF Skaebrae (1476 Advanced Ship Recognition Course), RAF Mona (8 OAFU), RAF Moreton-in-Marsh (21 OTU), RAF Marston Moor (1652 HCU), RAF Pocklington (102 Squadron), RAF Driffield and RAF Foulsham (462 RAAF Squadron), Aircraft flown in were Anson, Bolingbroke, Wellington and Halifax. He flew four daylight and four night-time operations with 102 Squadron and five daylight and twenty two night-time operations with 462 RAAF Squadron, a total of 35. Targets were Foret de Nieppe, Villers Bocage, De Bruyere, Somain, Brunswick, Eindhoven, Sterkrade, Wemars Capelle, Soesterberg, Le Havre, Gelsenkirchen, Nordstein, Kiel, Boulogne, Duisburg, Wilhelmshaven, Hanover, Essen, Ostkapelle, Domberg, Soest, Hamburg, Sylt, Koblentz, Bonn, Mainz, Rheine, Heilbronn, Neuss, Kaiserlautern, Mannheim and Dortmund. <span>His pilots on operations were </span>Flight Sergeant Mitchell, Flying Officer Sanderson, Squadron Leader Jackson, Flying officer Wther [?], Flying Officer Boyd, Flying Officer Anderson, Flying Officer McIndle and Flight Lieutenant James. This item was sent to the IBCC Digital Archive already in digital form. No better quality copies are available.
