Alan Green's Royal Canadian Air Force observer’s and air gunner’s flying log book
A.W. Green’s RCAF Observer’s and Air Gunner’s Flying Log Book, from 14th January 1941 to 19th June 1942, detailing training and operations as a navigator. He was stationed at RCAF Base Port Albert (No. 1 Air Navigation School), Canadian Forces Base Picton (No. 31 Bombing and Gunnery School), RAF Benson (12 OTU), RAF Lichfield (27 OTU), RAF Lossiemouth (20 OTU) and RAF Marham (218 squadron). Aircraft in which flown: Anson, Battle, Wellington Ic and Stirling. His pilots on operations were Sergeant Griggs and Squadron Leader Ashworth. He completed a total of 20 night operations on the following targets in Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France and Germany: Bremen, Brest, Cologne, Dortmund, Emden, Essen, Hamburg, Langelands Belt (Gardening), Lyons, Mannheim, Ostend, Paris (Gnome-Rhone works), Plzen, Scharnhost and Gneisau and Wilhelmshaven. Notes include 30/5/42: “TOOK AVM BALDWIN” (Air Officer Commanding No.3 Group).

Harold Yeoman’s pilot’s flying log book
Pilot’s flying log book for Harold Yeoman covering the period from 18 November 1940 to 7 November 1942. Detailing his flying training and operations flown. He was stationed at RAF Sywell (6 EFTS), RCAF Moose Jaw (32 SFTS), RAF Bassingbourn (11 OTU), RAF Binbrook (12 Squadron), RAF Moreton-in-the-Marsh (1446 Flight). Aircraft flown in were Tiger Moth, Harvard, Wellington, Anson, Defiant and Lysander. He flew a total of 14 night-time operations with 12 Squadron, targets were Cherbourg, Calais, Le Havre, Paris, Essen, Kiel, Lubeck, Cologne, but was then limited medically to non-operational flying on a ferry training unit. Medical Board 7 January 1943, Category A48 no further flying. His pilots on operations were Sergeant Potts, and Pilot Officer Cook.

Targets were Dunkirk, Berlin, Wilhelmshaven, Cherbourg, Emden, Bremen, Brest, Mannheim, Kiel, Paris, St Nazaire, Essen, Cologne, Hamburg, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Duisburg, Bayonne, Turin, Nuremburg, Stuttgart, and La Spezia. His first or second pilots on operations were Pilot Officer Robson, Sergeant Field, Flight Sergeant Weakly, Sergeant Howe, Pilot Officer Desmond, Sergeant Claxton, Sergeant Heavery, Pilot Officer Manifold, Sergeant Rodgers, Sergeant Stuart, Sergeant Byers, Sergeant Wallace, Sergeant Wilson, Flight Lieutenant Sinclair and Sergeant Gillman, and Sergeant Carrington. He carried out a total of 43 operations on two tours with 49 and 192 Squadrons as a wireless operator / air gunner on the following targets in France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Sweden: Aachen, battleships in Channel, Berlin, Bremen, Brest, Cologne, Emden, Essen, Frankfurt, Fresians, Halse, Hamburg, Kassel, Kiel Bay, Le Havre, Lorient, Mannheim, Helsingborg, Oslo Fjord, Rostock, Wilhelmshaven, Flensburg, Frankfurt, Gdynia, Mainz, Munster, S.D. operations, S.D. patrol, St Leu, Stade, Stuttgart, Walcheren and Wiesbaden. His pilots on operations were Pilot Officer Falconer, Pilot Officer Allsebrook, Sergeant Davis, Pilot Officer Ellis, Pilot Officer Hazelhurst, Pilot Officer Thomsett, Wing Commander David Donaldson, Flight Lieutenant Hayter-Preston, Flight Lieutenant Stephens, Flight Lieutenant Ford and Squadron Leader Fawkes. Includes notes on crash landings and forced landings, ditching off the Isle of Wight, infra-red trials and a Cook’s tour in the Ruhr Hamburg area. Reg was assessed as having exceptional night vision, had proficiency record above average and received air officer commanding commendation on second tour.
