An account of the resource
The observer's and air gunner's flying log book for Flight Lieutenant John Francis Banks, born I July 1922, (1578295 Royal Air Force) from 28 March 1943 to 9 April 1946. Detailing his training and operations flown. Served at 41 Air School South Africa, Advanced Flying Unit RAF Wigtown, 84 Operational Training Unit RAF Desborough, 192 Squadron RAF Foulsham, 221 Group and 47 Squadron South East Asia Air Force. Aircraft flown were Oxford, Anson, Wellington, Tiger Moth, Dakota, Expeditor and Mosquito. He carried out 40 operations, 32 night time and 8 day time as bomb aimer. All operations were flown in Wellington aircraft with Flying Officer Clarkson as pilot. The operations were to the coasts of Belgium, Denmark, France Germany and Netherlands, the Bay of Biscay and Western Approaches, Channel Islands, Brest, Calais, Cherbourg and the Frisian Islands.

Pilot's flying log book. Two, for Ken Souter. Covering the period from 27 March 1951 to 24 March 1958. Detailing his flying training, flying duties with 83 and 150 Squadron and operations flown. He was stationed at 230 Operational Conversion Unit RAF Scampton, 83 and 150 Squadron RAF Hemswell, RAF Changi, No.4 Flying Training School RAF Worksop, Bomber Command Bombing School RAF Lindholme, 231 Operational Conversion Unit RAF Bassingbourn and 61 Squadron RAF Upwood. Aircraft flown in were Lincoln, Anson, Chipmunk, Tiger Moth, Oxford, Lancaster, Meteor, Varsity, Wellington, Consul, Vampire, Valetta, Devon, Canberra, and Beverley. He flew 13 daylight operations with 83 squadron during the Malayan emergency. Targets are unidentified. He also flew several low level flights for the making of The Dam Busters film.

Aircrew flying log book 5, for F S W Jolliffe, navigator/radar, covering the period from 8 September 1961 to 8 May 1983. Detailing his flying duties with 60 squadron, all weather fighter combat squadron and number 2 air navigation school. He was stationed at RAF Tengah, RAF West Raynham and RAF Hullavington. Aircraft flown in were Javelin, Sycamore, Belvedere, Britannia, Comet, Caravelle, Valetta, Varsity, Lightening, Dakota, Alouette, Chipmunk, Pembroke and Gazelle. His last flight crewing an aircraft in Singapore was on 3rd December 1962 when they had to eject from their Javelin.
