U.S OBSERVER ON BOARD
From Our Own Correspondent
BERLIN, Tuesday.
Germany’s giant airship, the L.Z. 129, set out this morning on a trial flight which is expected to last 30 hours. This is the last trip the airship will make before being handed over to the Zeppelin Co. to begin commercial flights. It will then be known as The Hindenburg.
The L.Z. 129 took off in perfect weather, and headed out across Lake Constance. Throughout the test flight she will keep to a course south of the Danube.
On board is Commander Peck, of the American Navy, who will accompany the airship on its first flight to South America, and report his observations to the American Marine authorities.
