92 items. An oral history interview with Warrant Officer Richard Curnock (1924, 1915605 Royal Air Force), his log book, letters, photographs and prisoner of war magazines. He flew operations with 425 Squadron before being shot down and becoming a prisoner of war.

I only hope this letter never has to be posted, but if it has to be, it is God’s wish.
I have been on opperations [sic] since the 2nd of November, and I am now taking a small part in helping to defeat Germany. Many men women, and children have been killed in this war, and we have not felt any think [sic]

much about it, but now it has happened. Please don’t let it worry you to [sic] much. I know it will do, but try to forget. I am very proud of my Family, I hope you are all proud of me.
I am writing this letter with every confidence that I will do my full tour, but when you are in aircrew you know that you may be in England, away from the war in the morning and in the middle of it within the next 4 or 5 hours, but I am doing a job that has to be
