Bremen
Description
An account of the resource
Top - oblique aerial photograph of Bremen port with river Weser to the left running bottom to top with dock to the right. Pier in between has extensive railway sidings to the left, warehouses in the middle are mainly without roofs but cleared of debris. Dock cranes line the right hand side of this pier. In the distance the river veers to the left with many industrial buildings, chimneys, and cranes visible on the right hand bank. Left bank appears flat and featureless farmland.
Bottom - oblique aerial photograph of a city with many ruined domestic and factory buildings and two tall chimneys. Railway line on embankment running across middle of photograph from left to right appears to be damaged. Foreground shows garden allotments and several large bomb craters are visible among dead trees. Both captioned 'Bremen'. Both submitted with description 'Oblique "Cook's tour" aerial view of Bremen. May 45'.
