93 items. The collection contains two oral history interviews with Jim Wright, letters, cuttings and photographs. It concerns James Roy Wright’s research into his father, Sergeant Arthur Charles Wright (1911 - 1943, 1149750 Royal Air Force) and an operation to Turin 12/13 July 1943 which caused 100 aircraft to violate Swiss airspace. Two aircraft were shot down or crashed in Switzerland. There are many photographs and details of the activities that night including reports by the Swiss authorities. The crews are identified with photographs and there are several photographs of the funerals at Vevey. Additional material includes aerial photograph of bomb damage in Germany and the logbook and airman's pay book of W G Anderson. <br /><br />The collection has been donated to the IBCC Digital Archive by Jim Wright and catalogued by Nigel Huckins, with descriptions of official Swiss documents provided Gilvray Williams. <br /><br />Additional information on Arthur Charles Wright is available via the <a href="https://internationalbcc.co.uk/losses/126015/">IBCC Losses Database</a>. An account of the resource
59 items. The collection concerns the wartime career of Flight Sergeant Herbert Frederick O'Hara (1917 – 1968, 655736, 195482 Royal Air Force). Herbert O'Hara served on 12 Squadron at RAF Wickenby between February and May 1944. His aircraft was shot down over France in May 1944 and he evaded until he was liberated in September 1944. He was then commissioned. The collection contains service records and two logbooks, notification of him missing as well as correspondence from and photographs of French people who helped him evade. In addition there is an account of travelling across the Atlantic for flying training in Florida as well as notes from his aircrew officers course at RAF Credenhill. Finally there are a number of target and reconnaissance photographs and six paintings.
The collection has been loaned to the IBCC Digital Archive for digitisation by Brian O'Hara and catalogued by Nigel Huckins and IBCC staff.

ABOVE :- In September, 1944 we . [missing word] the Channel Ports several times. The above photo was taken as out bombs hit the deck in the centre of Le Harve. The enemy were holding out here to prevent the Allies from using the port.
BELOW:- The following day we again attacked Le Harve. This time the target was German Army positions on the outskirts of the city. The photo shows numerous sticks straddling the target area.

Side by side reconnaissance photographs showing an industrial area with buildings, roads and towards the right, some railway sidings. This industrial area is orientated from lower left to top right. Chimney smoke is seen on the left hand photograph. The right hand photograph, of the same location, shows most areas damaged or destroyed, with many of the buildings without roofs. Two oil tanks centre bottom are damaged and the railway sidings are covered in bomb craters. Explanatory text below 'LEUNA (Merseburg) has been attacked several times but was in partial operation at the date of the B.C attack on the night 14/15 January 1945, On the right is the photograph taken on the 14th February showing the tremendous damage done (compare with the same area before the attack on the plant started). The plant is totally inactive and likely to remain so for a considerable period. H.Q.B.C Air Staff int P.T. 438-9'.
