[/italics]
Das sagt ein deutscher Generalfeldmarschall!

Eichenlaubträger Generalfeldmarschall Paulus an die Deutsche Wehrmacht und das Deutsche Volk
Description
An account of the resource
A call from the German Field Marshall Friedrich Paulus to his comrades and to the German people via radio 'Freies Deutschland' while he is a prisoner of war in Russia. After a call for reflection in August 1944 he feels he has to speak again despite being reluctant . He talks of the lies about the battle of Stalingrad spread by Hitler and Himmler on German radio - not cowardice but lack of supplies forced the German Army to surrender at Stalingrad. The atrocities inflicted by Himmler to many people and nations are in contrast to the way in which the Russians treat German prisoners of war. Thousands of imprisoned Germans troops, including high ranking and decorated officers, have joined in a call to the German military and civilians to end this war and get back to peace and freedom.
The text ends with a multilingual appeal to pass the flyer to the Germans.
