Letter from Bill Akrill to Ros and Harry
Bill relates how he has been showing Michael's photograph to everyone he meet, whether they are interested or not. Mentions how he has had a long day flying and has been invited to spend Christmas with friends living locally. Describes a visit to Oxford - wet and busy and nothing in the shops anyway - so hasn't been able to get cards or presents for anyone. Looking forward to the camp pantomime. Sends message to Michael about looking out for Father Christmas.

Letter from Bill Akrill to Mary
Bill discusses a friend at home who has just gone into the RAF. Writes that he will have to go into the decompression chamber again, this time to see which men are able to crew a strato-bomber.

Letter from Bill Akrill to his sister
Bill writes he is home again after just a week but has to return to West Freugh to pass out with 37 out of 40 students. Moans about the total confusion and having to return there unnecessarily. Found his bicycle at the station when he got back so rode it home. Followed by cartoon of man (probably Bill) struggling to pedal a bicycle with luggage and overflowing kit bags piled round him. A chicken is running along the path in front of him.
