Dear Dick,
No doubt you’ll be surprised to hear from me, but I was trying to find out how I could write you, so I went over to see your Mother last week, as I had a weeks holiday & she gave me this letter form, so I hope that this reaches you alright. She looks very well indeed, & so does your Dad, & Mary is getting quite a big girl & will be starting school this week, so I don’t know how she will like it I’m sure.
Well, I was very glad to hear that you are alright old bean, I couldn’t quite realise it for a start, because it seems only yesterday that we were playing table tennis & stuffing ourselves with cakes at the club with Derek, by the way, he wishes to be remembered to you, he is very well indeed. I read in one of your postcards that you were making a pair of swimming trunks, have you finished them yet? I would love to see them, I bet they are a terrific looking contraption, what with your efforts at sewing, you did take lessons at it didn’t you? How are you keeping now? alright I hope. Well Dick, if you get this letter, [deleted] as [/deleted] which, as I said before I hope you do, please write me when you feel like it will you, I’d be so pleased to hear from you, so I will say cheerio for now & all the best,
Your old pal Ken
