My darling Mummy and Daddy.
Thanks awfully for your letters. We are glad to hear you are well, and we are the same. Send our love back to Nierses. Alright Steve doesn’t mind if he stays up for me. Your [sic] right about the groans but I think it is best as it will really be quite a big saving. We don’t really mind much. Please let us know exactly what we have to do, as how long we stay in Calcutta and if any one is meeting us or anything like that. And give us a list of what we have to buy as tennis rackets, shoes etc. We don’t need shirts or suits. I am glad to hear the season was not too bad. This arangement [sic] is awkward but it certainly does save a lot. And after all we are quite big enough to look after ourselves. But let us know what we have to do, as it will be so much easier for us. I hope you recieved [sic] my last weeks letter as you did not mention anything about Davey. It was very good of her to take us out wasn’t it? She remarked that she liked you awfully. I will try very hard. God bless and keep you
with love from us both
