Description

Son of Thomas Donaghy starts by mentioning his father was a New Zealand Lancaster pilot on 75 Squadron who was shot down in June 1944. Author was born in 1939 and never knew his father.
Account is translation of French language document describing how he found online the " Association Forced Landing" website with information about the operation against Dreux as well as details about the crash in which his father was killed. He traced the only survivor and spoke to him in late 2008. He continues with account of contacting members of the "Association Forced Landing" and visiting the town where his fathers crew were buried. Give a detailed account of the visit including ceremonies and awards. He also identified he German fighter pilot who probably shot down his father's aircraft and made contact with the German's son.
