D A Morill’s Flying Log Book covering the period from 14 February 1944 to 04 May 1946 1943, detailing his training and operations flown as Flight Engineer. He was stationed at RAF Marston Moor (1652 HCU), RAF Snaith (51 Squadron), RAF Leconfield (96 Squadron) and RAF Palam (232 Squadron). Aircraft flown in were Halifax, Skymaster, York, Dakota, and Liberator. He flew 20 night and 20 day operations with 51 Squadron, total 40 including one early return and one recall. Targets were Colline-Beaumont, Bourg-Leopold, Mont Fleury, Chateaudun, Alencon, Maisy-Palaiseau, Amiens, Douai, Fouillard, Villers Bocage, Oisemont, St Martin L’Hortier, Croix-Dalle (baled out UK), Kiel, Stuttgart, Foret de Nieppe, Tracy Bocage, Anderbelk, Bois de Cassen, Foret de Mormal, Somain, Brunswick, “Tractable22”, Tirlemont, Sterkrade, Lumbres, Venlo, Le Havre, Gelsenkirchen, Munster, Wilmshaven (recall), Boulogne, Neuss and Calais. His pilot on operations was Flight Sergeant Abell. He then flew with Transport Command in the Far East.
