Interpretation of aerial photographs taken during a daylight attack on Caen/Carpiquet aerodrome by twelve Ventura aircraft of 21 and 464 Squadrons, 2 Group, Bomber Command, escorted by fighters. One photograph is attached to the report. This is annotated 'SA 196 CAEN/CARPIQUET A/D 21.1.43. Annotated Print No 1. Neg No 16242' and captioned '1029 FEL 21.1.43//V5" 9500" O A 21'. One area of bomb damage is delineated with a broken line and labelled 'A'. This is referred to in the typewritten report.
