Served at RAF Yatesbury, RAF Lossiemouth, RAF Honington.

Aircraft flown were Dominie, Battle, Whitley II and V, Anson, Wellington.

Flew 17 operations (1 day, 16 night) with 9 Squadron to targets including Dieppe, Boulogne, Kiel, Brest, Düsseldorf, Hamm, Cologne, Bremen, Hamburg, Hannover, Mannheim and the Prinz Eugen in the Atlantic Ocean.
His pilot on operations was Flight Lieutenant Edwards.
