He was stationed at RAF Morpeth (No. 4 Air Gunnery School), RAF Finningley (No. 18 Operational Training Unit), RAF Binbrook (No. 1481 (Bomber) Gunnery Flight), RAF Faldingworth (No. 1667 Conversion Unit), RAF Elsham Wolds (No. 576 Squadron). Aircraft in which flown: Martinet, Botha, Wellington, Halifax and Lancaster.
Records 5 night operations (final entry states “Missing”), on the following targets in France and Germany: Boulogne (with 18 OTU), Frankfurt, Berlin, Stettin, Brunswick.
His pilot on all operations was Flight Lieutenant Morren.
