Transcript of conversation with Jim Lord (pilot) and his wireless operator Jack "Jock" Elliot. The recall crewing up and describe crew while at OTU. They mentions heavy conversion and talk about the comparison between Halifax and Lancaster aircraft. They discuss an incident while on Halifax at HCU. This was followed by joining Lancaster finishing school and 550 Squadron at RAF North Killingholme. They completed 30 operations and describes one particularly nasty sortie when, due to poor weather and aircraft damage, they ran out of fuel and crew had to bale out. They discuss other incidents and experiences, and talk about monika, night fighters and daylight operations. They comment on flying famous Lancaster 'Phantom of the Ruhr' against captured Ju 88. Their tour finished in October 1944. Speaks of injury due to bale out. Describes how the two met up again in 1984.
