Detailing his flying training, operations flown and instructor duties. He was stationed at 31 Bombing and Gunnery School RCAF Picton, 33 Air navigation School RCAF Hamilton, 2 (Observer’s) Advanced Flying Unit RAF Millom, 16 Operational Training Unit RAF Upper Heyford, 1654 Heavy Conversion Unit RAF Wigsley, 5 Lancaster Finishing School RAF Syerston, 57 Squadron RAF East Kirkby, 227 Squadron RAF Strubby and RAF Balderton. Aircraft flown in were Anson, Bolingbroke, Wellington, Stirling and Lancaster. He flew a total of 33 operations, 4 daylight and 5 Night with 57 Squadron, 4 daylight and 20 night with 227 Squadron. Targets were Darmstadt. Stuttgart, Boulogne, Bremerhaven, Mönchengladbach, Wilhelmshaven, Bremen, Walcheren, Brunswick, Nuremburg, Harburg, Duren, Ladbergen, Munich, Heilbronn, St Vith, Houffalize, Gravenhorst, Politz, Merseburg, Brux, Siegen, Horten, Dortmund, Lützkendorf, Hamburg, Wesel and Molbis. His pilot on operations was Flight Lieutenant Robertshawe. Post war he had spells at RAF Finningly, 11 OTU at RAF Westcott, 17 OTU at RAF Silverstone and finally at RAF Manby.
