M Jacoby’s Observer’s Flying Log Book covering the period from 4 June 1940 to 27 September 1941, detailing his flying training and operations flown as Observer.
He was stationed at RAF Benson (12 OTU), RAF Manby (1 AAS) and RAF Binbrook (142 Squadron). Aircraft flown in were Anson, Battle, Blenheim and Wellington.
He flew on 20 night operations with 142 Squadron. Targets were Calais, Amsterdam, Bremen, Boulogne, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Duisburg, Lorient, Vegesack, Hamburg, Berlin, Rostock, and Stettin. On this operation logbook annotated ‘Nil return, death presumed’.
