Posted to 9 Advanced Flying Unit, 28 Operational Training Unit, 1481 Gunnery Flight and 1667 Conversion Unit for training. Operational posting to 626 Squadron in November 1943. After completion of tour, posted to 30 Operational Training Unit in August 1944.
Served at RAF Binbrook, RAF Faldingworth, RAF Wickenby, RAF Seighford.
Aircraft flown were Anson, Wellington, Lancaster I, Lancaster III.
He flew 33 bombing operations with 626 Squadron as an air gunner. His targets were Modane, Berlin, Mannheim, Stettin, Brunswick, Magdeburg, Leipzig, Schweinfurt, Augsburg, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Aachen, Rouen, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Karlsruhe, Essen, Bruz, Merville, Hasselt, Orleans, Duisburg, Dortmund, Tergnier.
His pilots were Warrant Officer Wright, Pilot Officer Rew and Flight Sergeant Bennet.
