Description
Written from memory and scrap book about the RAF service of his fighter pilot father, who volunteered in 1940. It covers training, first operational squadron in England followed by postings to the Middle East where he was testing Spitfires due to be passed to the Russians. It describes training, operations on Spitfires on 118 Squadron and posting and voyage to the Middle East via Takeradi, Lagos and Cairo, and continues with his activities in Iraq. Following this, he joined 242 Squadron in Sicily. It describes Geoffrey's activities in Italy, including combat with Me 109 and FW 190 with 145 Squadron, continuing with 72 Squadron back in UK. It concludes with post war service.
