Arthur Steainstreet’s RCAF Pilot’s Flying Log Book from 2nd November 1942 to 16th March 1945, detailing training, instructional duties and operations as a pilot. He was stationed at: RCAF Station Assiniboia (No. 34 Elementary Flying Training School), RCAF Station North Battleford (No. 35 Service Flying Training School), RCAF Station Arnprior (No. 3 Flying Instructor School), RAF Church Lawford (No. 18 (Pilots) Advanced Flying Unit), RAF Cranwell (No. 1 Radio School), RAF Finningley (No. 18 Operational Training Unit), RAF Blyton (No. 1662 Conversion Unit), RAF Hemswell (170 squadron). Aircraft in which flown: DH82A Tiger, Oxford, Cornell, Dominie, Wellington, Lancaster.
Records two night operations: targets in Germany were Chemnitz and Nurnberg. First operation flown as 2nd pilot, first pilot was F/O McAinsh. Final entry is “Ops on Nurnberg - Missing”.
Also includes an endorsement in green, recording an instance of “Exceptional Flying Skill and Judgement”.
