Dear Ma & Pa.
Thanks very much for your letter which I received on the dot today.
I am glad to hear you are both well & that Connie & Alan are also, by the way it is quite possible that Alan may get his leave the same time as myself if he is about due for it, mine is on a [deleted] week [/deleted] fortnight next Wednesday, anyway I hope so, it would be grand to see him again.

It must have been rather a shock to you to have been in the lawn at the time the little boy was found.
I am glad to hear Elaine was a good girl yes I reckon we are lucky to have such nice kiddies, I know Pam missed her too whilst she was at Sutton she kept going round the house shouting “Lane”. thank [sic] you for having her I know she likes to come.
Well that seems about all just now, so cherio [sic] & God Bless you
