The collection concerns Ronald Holford Riding (b. 1921, 1525125 Royal Air Force) and contains his log book, correspondence, documents, photographs, and service material. He flew operations as a navigator with 69 Squadron before he was shot down in France. He evaded and worked with the resistance before crossing the Allied lines in August 1944.
The collection has been donated to the IBCC Digital Archive by Lyn Elizabeth Jolliffe and catalogued by Barry Hunter.

No words of mine can possibly help alleviate the heavy hearts you both must have right now after hearing Ron is reported missing yet I feel I must write to let you know how deeply grieved and how much I sympathise with you.
Ron and I have been good friends for two years – we would pull one anothers legs, go out together and have plenty of fun, never did we have wrong words consequently you can tell I miss his pleasant company more than I care to openly show in camp.
