Letter headed Syerston, no date. Thanks her for her letter, asks after Dad after his ordeal at Baldock. Comments that Rex may have failed his intermediate exams and that that they have a new navigator a Canadian, as Paddy had been grounded. Pleased that Marg has found her brooch. Comments that the Air Marshall was on the station when they got back from their latest operation and congratulated them on pressing on with their attack. Donald admits that he was frighted, he had most of the perspex knocked out of his turret.

Thanks for your letter just received. How has Dad got on after his ordeal at Baldock I shouldnt [sic] think that Rex has failed his course although he may have failed in his intermediate exam. I went to the show with Bobby, John, & Wish. Paddy has been grounded so we have a new navigator now A Canadian I am glad you have found

We have just come back from an interview with the press & B.B.C officals. [sic] John & myself were cornered & they tried to get us to say some thing about the raid for broadcasting but I was so scared I nearly messed myself

I had a lot of the perspect [sic] knocked out of my turret so I was busy picking icicles off my eyelashes Bobby was shooting a terrific line about it. Well I think thats [sic] the lot so I will say cheerio.
