AMBASSADE DE FRANCE
A LONDRES
L'ATTACHE DE L'AIR.
10, Duke Street W.1.
Tel. Welbeck 4471.
London, the 16 JAN 1948
Dear Mrs Gill
I have great pleasure in forwarding on to you the insignia of the Croix de Guerre with Silver Star which was awarded to your husband by the French Government.
I had hoped, till very recently, to organize an investiture at which you would have been invited, but under the present circumstances, I find myself in the impossibility of arranging such a meeting, owing to a great number of engagements I have to attend in the course of the next few months.
I have therefore thought it better to send you here enclosed the insignia of the above mentioned award upon which I very sincerely congratulate you.
I would be most grateful to you if you could acknowledge receipt of this letter.
Yours sincerely
The Air Attaché
