An account of the resource
One hundred and sixty-four items plus another one hundred and fifteen in two sub-ciollections. The collection concerns Flying Officer Kenneth Gill DFC (1922 - 1945, 1438901, 155097 Royal Air Force) and contains his log book, documents, photographs and family and other correspondence. <br />He flew operations as a navigator with 9 Squadron before starting a second tour with 617 Squadron. He was killed 21 March 1945 having completed 45 operations.<br /><br />The collection also contains two albums. <br /><a href="https://ibccdigitalarchive.lincoln.ac.uk/omeka/collections/show/2114">Kenneth Gill. Dear Madam,
I have to inform you that a gratuity of
£150 (one hundred & fifty pounds and a pension of £150 (one hundred & fifty pounds.) a year have been awarded to you as the widow of F./O Kenneth Gill D.F.C. R.A.F. together with an allowance of
£36(Thirty Six Shillings) a year in respect of one child [deleted] children [/deleted].
The above award is subject to the conditions of the Royal Warrant or corresponding authority governing grants in respect of death by service in the war, and takes effect from 1.12.45. An adjustment may be necessary if a pension or child's allowance has been awarded to you under the Widows’, Orphans’ and Old Age Contributory Pensions Acts, as such an award is not payable together with an award of widow's pension or child's allowance by this Ministry.
If you remarry you will cease to be eligible for pension and must notify H.M. Paymaster General immediately.
As regards any allowances awarded in respect of a child you should read note 3 overleaf. If you cease to maintain any child for whom an allowance has been awarded you must notify H.M. Paymaster General at once and state the date from which you ceased to maintain it.
Application for payment should be made to His Majesty's Paymaster General, Somerset House, (West Wing), London, W.C.2, on the enclosed [deleted] form 9/156 [/deleted] forms 9/156 and 9/157.
The notes on the reverse of this letter should be read carefully.
