Dear Mrs. Wilson,
I feel that I would like you to know of the sympathy which I and my family feel for you during the very anxious & trying time which lies ahead for all of us whose Sons were members of the crew of which my Son, Jack, was Flight Engineer.
It is very hard to look on the bright side at [deleted] the [/deleted] a time like this, and I appreciate fully that this letter, though very sincere, will not help you to bear the great sorrow which all of us must surely feel.
I would, however, like you to know that my thoughts are with you during this period of waiting – and I hope that soon our minds will be at rest through our recieving [sic] good news either from our Sons themselves or from the Air Ministry.
[page break]
Should you recieve [sic] news of the whereabouts of your boy, would you be so kid as to inform me. I would be most grateful. In the meantime let us hope that all is well with each one of them.
I am.
Yours Very Sincerely.
