We were so thrilled to see it in the paper & know how very proud your family must be, & so are we[?], as you are our only contact with the R.A.F. for none of our relatives are in that Service, & we are & always have been keenly interested in your "doings".

I have heard from your mother of some of your experiences on "ops" & realise how well-deserved your decoration is.
It's such a thrill that it has just come through in time for your 21st, & the only pity is that the whole series of events didn't co-incide with yours & Betty's leave. However, c'est le quèlle![?]
