Dear Mother,
It is now Monday 2 o’clock. I am at Jack Brooks, arrived Friday night 9 o’clock. My weekend was very enjoyable. Have been riding several trains and was hunting this morning. We got a pheasant and a cottontail.
This is a very nice part of the country and Jerry hasn’t bombed here much. War news certainly looks good.
Jack Brooks looks a lot like Uncle Sid looks [ed. his grandfather]. He has a boy Bill and a girl 6, Elizabeth. They are showing me a lovely time and I’m really enjoying myself. I go back on Friday. The farm must be about 200 acres of rolling land. He has about 50 head of cattle.
Hope you are all well at home. I haven’t received any mail as yet. I’m hoping for some when I go back today. Haven’t seen Dora’s brother as yet.
Give my best to everyone. Hope dad is feeling fine again. You should see me in my ???? and putees1. I’m quite a ???. I’ve gained weight again, 182 pounds now. England seems to be agreeing. Remember me to Jesse and the rest. I haven’t wrote [written] him yet. Well so long for now. ??? and write.
Love Glenn
