27 items. The collection concerns Flight Lieutenant Ronald Carpenter DFM (149832 Royal Air Force). He flew a tour of operations as a bomb aimer with 10 Squadron and with 223 Squadron in 100 Group on electronic countermeasures. The collection contains his log book, documents and photographs.
The collection has been donated to the IBCC Digital Archive by Ronald Carpenter and catalogued by Trevor Hardcastle.

'This photograph was taken by Halifax ZA-X BB324 of 10 Squadron. On 21/22 June 1943 it carried out a raid on Krefeld. My dad was the bomb aimer and the photo was taken automatically on bomb release. The aircraft returned safely to base. Dad and the rest of the crew were then stood down for a few days. This aircraft failed to return the following night from Mulheim with a different crew. The pilot was Sgt Pinkerton. A few years ago I got in touch with his nephew in Canada.'
