With further reference to your letter dated 17th April, 1944, I have now heard from the Unit and regret to inform you that despite a most careful search and exhaustive enquiries no trace can be found of the vests and towels.
I have made the fullest possible enquiries and am sorry that my efforts have not proved successful.
