Dear Mrs Waring [sic]
I received your phone message this afternoon from Mr. Dickenson. I am sorry I was out when you rang as I am afraid I will be unable to call round this evening, being out from 7pm to about 10pm. I don’t suppose you will be passing this way near the latter time, but if you are my wife & I would be very pleased if you would call in.
You will understand how very sorry I was to hear the bad news. I rather gathered from Mr Dickenson the [sic] there are still some possible grounds for hope & I do sincerely wish this to be correct.
I hope we do hear better news soon meanwhile please
[page break]
accept my sympathy with you in your present trouble.
Come back to work when you feel fitted to do so
Yours sincerely
A. Jackson.
