Navigator’s air bomber’s and air gunner’s flying log book for L E S Manning, air gunner, covering the period from 14 October 1943 to 18 July 1944 when he was shot down and evaded capture until 7 September 1944 when he rejoined allied forces but was withdrawn from aircrew duties. He was stationed at RAF Pembrey, RAF Turweston, RAF Silverstone, RAF Swinderby, RAF Syerston and RAF East Kirkby. Aircraft flown in were Anson, Wellington, Stirling and Lancaster. He flew three operations with 57 squadron. Targets were Nevers, Caen battle area and Revigny. <span>His pilot on operations was</span> Flight Lieutenant Bulcraig.<br /><br />This item was sent to the IBCC Digital Archive already in digital form.
